Workopolis Selects Amanah for Colocation and IP Transit Services in Toronto

Workopolis Amanah Customer

Toronto, ON, May 02, 2016 – Amanah announced its newest client today: Workopolis (www.workoplis.com), Canada's largest and most popular online job site. Bypassing a long list of competitors in the industry, Workopolis selected Amanah as its new on-site IP Transit provider and colocation facility at 1 Yonge Street in downtown Toronto.

Knowing very well that the company was in need of a large amount of bandwidth with maximum reliability and speed, Amanah was an easy decision for Workopolis. Amanah will provide dedicated and secure data center space within 1 Yonge Street, where the online job site can colocate vital server equipment. Workopolis will also be able to cross connect to the data center and take advantage of Amanah’s fiber network, which connects 1 Yonge Street to 151 Front Street and TORIX.

As Canada's online job site leader, Workopolis is no stranger to the importance of bandwidth services when it comes to running their day-to-day business. They have millions of monthly website visitors and are a vital resource to Canadian businesses and residents, providing tools, alerts and databases to assist with job searches. Without stable, fast and secure connectivity, the experience of the end user suffers, resulting in devastating effects on the company.

There’s no doubt that today’s business managers are under continuous pressure to deliver more value at lesser costs. That’s why Amanah is founded on a determination to provide businesses with cost-effective colocation solutions and IP Transit services right where they need to be – in downtown Toronto.

Directly connected to Amanah’s data center space within 151 Front Street West, on a network from multiple Tier 1 providers that’s both lightning-fast and ultra-reliable, the company’s new location at 1 Yonge Street provides clients with the key elements of a telco hotel data center space: proximity to cross connections and internet exchanges – without the premium prices.

Amanah Acquires Cogeo-Peer1 Data Centre at 1 Yonge Street

Toronto, ON, February 19, 2015 – Amanah announced today that it has acquired the well-known Cogeco-Peer1 Data Centre located at 1 Yonge Street in downtown Toronto.

The acquisition has several beneficial implications for Amanah and its clients. Because the Cogeco-Peer1 location was a fully equipped data centre, Amanah was able to save millions of dollars in construction, time, equipment, labour and setup. Amanah inherited many essential machines and materials that it would have otherwise had to purchase including backup generators, UPSs and cooling systems. This has made it possible for Amanah to open its new facility to the public in a short time span and to pass on incredible savings to its clients.

Over the past several years, the colocation market has seen meteoric growth. Globally, its value reached a total of $25 billion in 2014, according to a report by 451 Research. That number is expected to increase even further as we make our way through 2015. Demand for new colocation facilities is high, particularly in large cities like Toronto.

Amanah knows that Toronto is a growing metropolis, with thousands of organizations operating in close proximity to one another. What this means is that competition for colocation space is incredibly fierce, and smaller businesses might often find themselves edged out by larger rivals. Given how important IT infrastructure has become to enterprises, Amanah feels strongly that every business should be given the opportunity to colocate. And this is exactly what Amanah’s new data centre offers – a chance for any business to purchase the colocation space it needs, at prices it can afford.
